Durable,
great-looking storage sheds; vinyl garden
sheds give you the best of both worlds.
A simple, inexpensive garden storage shed
can be used for all kinds of purposes. You can use
your storage shed to keep your gardening and home
maintenance tools and equipment dry and always ready
when you need them, or as a secure place to keep the
kids’ bikes and scooters. A large storage shed can
even serve as an extra room in your backyard, so you
could have a playroom for the kids, a quiet place to
pursue your favorite hobby, or even a spare bedroom.
You have two basic choices in materials for backyard
storage sheds; vinyl and natural timber. If you’re
in the process of deciding between a natural timber
and a vinyl storage shed, vinyl sheds save you a lot
of time and money, and they look terrific.
Vinyl vs. timber
storage sheds.
Natural red cedar certainly looks magnificent, and
for many people the look of natural timber is
impossible to beat. However, natural timber storage
sheds are considerably more expensive than vinyl
sheds, and require a lot of regular maintenance to
keep them looking good over the long term. A natural
timber storage shed is an option you should consider
only if you’re prepared to devote the time and money
to repainting and resealing your timber shed to
protect it from rotting and weathering.
Vinyl storage sheds
are manufactured from a technologically advanced PVC
cladding material around a solid steel frame, so
they’re exceptionally strong, durable, resistant to
weathering and rotting, and fire retardant. Vinyl
storage sheds never need to be repainted; in fact,
they will last a very long time with virtually no
maintenance at all. The vinyl cladding material is
much cheaper than natural timber, so the price
advantage of a vinyl storage shed over natural timber
is very attractive, and the sheds come in a great
range of colors, shapes and sizes.
