Vinyl sheds and shed kits are a low
maintenance alternative to natural timber.
Vinyl sheds
and shed kits are very simple to put together, and are
rapidly gaining popularity as an alternative to a
timber shed. The variety of sizes, shapes, styles and
designs is literally endless, ranging from a simple,
small structure for keeping your gardening tools dry,
to a back yard barn large enough to house a large lawn
tractor, all the family’s bicycles, boating gear, and
still leave enough room for tools and pool equipment.
There are designs which match any architectural style
perfectly, and if you don’t find exactly what you
need, you can have one custom designed. Vinyl sheds
and shed kits are manufactured from an advanced PVC
cladding material around a solid steel frame, so
they’re extremely strong, weather resistant, fire
retardant and durable, and unlike natural timber they
never need to be repainted. What’s more, they look
great.
Vinyl shed kits.
You can have your new vinyl shed professionally
installed on site, or if you have a few basic
carpentry skills, there are shed kits which make it
easy to put the shed together yourself, usually within
a few hours. The kits contain everything you need to
build the shed. All of the components have been
pre-cut and drilled, so tools are not normally
necessary. Each part is numbered, and the kit will
contain illustrated step-by-step instructions, so you
can’t go wrong.
A traditional concrete slab is not necessary for
most vinyl sheds, but there are optional foundation
kits, which are highly recommended. The foundation is
assembled from a steel frame, then once the shed has
been constructed on top, you can fill the interior of
the foundation frame with concrete, or cover it with
moisture resistant timber or chipboard.
It’s very wise to check first whether you need
approval from your local authorities before you make
your purchase.
